The Role As a Director, IB (International Banking) Client Commercial Technology Engineering, you will lead a group of technology professionals responsible for technical design, development, support and delivery of Global systems solutions and Commercial Banking client systems. Your focus will be on resolving complex, multi‑dimensional business problems to support Commercial business needs. Key Accountabilities Lead and drive a customer‑focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Independently resolve highly complex, multi‑faceted problems, often unstructured and without precedent, to meet the business needs of end users. Apply expert financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions. Develop solutions on an iterative basis, providing interim deliverables until a final production solution is created. Manage major, multi‑disciplinary projects to implement and deliver solutions to business problems. Guide business requirements and processes, preparing business case proposals. Define and plan architecture, securing and scheduling resources from a development perspective. Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress against objectives, perform financial reviews, and secure consensus and cooperation from users and senior management. Lead implementation strategy and production support for initiatives under the portfolio. Build and manage cohesive software architecture, data governance standards, artifacts, roadmaps, and provide technical direction for the assigned applications. Ensure best practices are followed in design, development, documentation, and tooling across projects and existing production systems. Continuously enhance knowledge of the Bank’s and Division’s business strategies, policies, risk management practices, product offerings, financial markets, instruments, regulatory requirements, back‑office processes, and rapidly changing technologies to provide effective solutions. Manage and actively participate with third parties in the implementation of regional and enterprise projects. Create an environment that pursues efficient operations while ensuring adequate business controls to meet operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk obligations. Build a high‑performance environment and implement a people strategy to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team, fostering an inclusive workplace and managing succession and development planning. Occasional travel may be required. Experience What You Will Bring to Succeed 8+ years in Management, software development, and IT industry experience, with clear progression through ranks. 5+ years leading and building high‑performance teams. Strong technical people‑management skills to drive team success in project implementation. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to build consensus with stakeholders and technology teams. Disciplined in up‑to‑date development methodologies and familiar with modern software development technologies and concepts. Practical experience with systems design and specification for large‑scale applications. Areas of Expertise Broad responsibility over Commercial Systems across all IB countries. Responsible for all IB Commercial projects and their strategic direction. Knowledge and experience in Commercial Banking and third‑party management.
