Responsibilities Forecasting and Resource Management: Develop and maintain department forecasts, ensuring discipline leads update project/program forecasts weekly to align with Project/Program Manager demands Communicate changes to work plans and resourcing needs through change management to project stakeholders Leadership and Supervision: Supervise discipline leads in the conception, planning, and development of engineering designs, projects, processes, proposals, and estimates Provide leadership and mentorship to discipline leads and engineering/design teams, acting as a focal point for expertise and direction on engineering solutions Project Guidance and Support: Guide scopes of work, man‑hour estimates, schedules, and priorities for projects and proposals Assist in negotiating critical engineering issues and review/approve manpower requirements, including selection, appraisal, and training of staff Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to Vista's Quality Management System (QMS) Develop, implement, and maintain discipline‑specific templates, checklists, and procedures, actively stewarding continuous improvement and documenting lessons learned Technical Oversight: Prepare and review P&ID inputs, instrument selection, instrument indexes, datasheets, and sizing Create and review I/O lists, instrument wiring drawings, loop diagrams, and UPS load requirements Design and review PLC panels, cable schedules, I&C specifications, design criteria, shutdown keys, cause and effect diagrams, control narratives, fiber optic panels, control system architecture, and engineering work packages Provide technical support to vendors for DCS/SIS/FG panel design and fabrication, as well as mechanical/electrical equipment Business Development Support: Support business development by developing discipline man‑hour estimates for proposals Requirements Ten‑plus years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry, with five years’ experience in leading teams Engineering Department: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering or applied science; Design Department: Technical school certification/degree Ability to work and collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and designers including Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural & Architectural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls and Piping Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Strong written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail Self‑motivated and efficient with time management Strong working knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and industry standards Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits Preferred 12 years or more of experience as a fully qualified engineer, with five years’ experience in the energy industry Three or more years of experience leading an engineering team in an EPC environment Benefits A stimulating, fast‑paced and challenging work environment where you will contribute to the interesting municipal and industrial engineering projects A robust and consistent recruitment process that ensures your colleagues are likeminded and comparably capable An opportunity to be a part of an entrepreneurial, technically skilled team which has established leadership in innovative engineering solutions A strong value‑based philosophy that provides an informal, close‑knit team environment, where you and your family feel like a part of our organization, and not just an employee number Competitive compensation and benefits, including a performance‑linked variable pay program Company‑sponsored social events and team sports Flexible work schedules, half‑day Fridays and free parking An organization that values and encourages diversity #J-18808-Ljbffr
