Salary Range: CA$110,000.00 To CA$130,000.00 AnnuallySummary Core Molding Technologies is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as a key business partner to plant leadership, driving financial performance, cost control, and operational decision-making.This role is responsible for overseeing plant-level accounting, cost management, financial reporting, and internal controls, while providing actionable insights to support production, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with plant leadership to drive financial performance and support operational decision-makingPrepare and analyze weekly and monthly financial results, KPIs, forecasts, and annual operating plansLead plant-level cost accounting, including variance analysis, standard costing, and cost improvement trackingEnsure accuracy of inventory, bills of materials (BOM), and product costingMonitor and reconcile inventory, production, shipping, and returns activityOversee month‑end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reportingMaintain and enforce strong internal controls across operations, finance, and reportingAnalyze labor, material, overhead, and distribution costs to identify risks and opportunitiesSupport capital expenditure tracking and financial justification of investmentsPartner with operations through daily production meetings and plant walkthroughsLead analysis of customer chargebacks, pricing changes, and margin impactsIdentify and manage excess and obsolete inventory risksCoordinate with corporate finance and IT on reporting, systems, and compliance requirementsSupport internal and external audits, including quarterly and year‑end activitiesLead and develop the plant finance teamWhat Success Looks LikeAccurate, timely financial reporting and forecastingStrong cost visibility and control across plant operationsImproved inventory accuracy and cost managementEffective partnership with plant leadership and cross‑functional teamsIdentification and execution of cost‑saving and efficiency opportunitiesCompliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial standardsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5‑10 years of experience in plant finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance leadershipStrong experience with cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysisExperience in a manufacturing environment (multi‑site or multi‑entity preferred)High proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsAbility to work cross‑functionally and influence operational decisionsPreferredCPA, CMA, or MBAExperience in multi‑company or multi‑currency environmentsExperience supporting audits and implementing internal controlsBackground in automotive, plastics, or industrial manufacturingFull‑time, Monday through Friday. Occasional extended hours or weekend support may be required.
