Job Description The Communications Manager leads and executes strategic internal and external communications initiatives to drive employee engagement, enhance communications with clients, partners, stakeholder engagements, support brand presence, and project-related messaging. This position involves writing, planning, media relations, digital marketing, crisis communications, and leadership of communication campaigns. This position also assists with project communications, particularly early in the project, when/as needed. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with corporate and operational goals. Create annual communications plans supporting business growth, acquisitions, major project wins, and strategic initiatives. Working with Brand Manager, maintain brand consistency across all communications platforms. Develop, maintain, train relevant staff on an Amico specific crisis communications plan that would include risk considerations, team response procedures, media training program and other necessary training. Advise leadership on messaging, positioning, and risk communication and receive CEO approval on messaging as appropriate. Plan, organize, and execute company-wide town halls (quarterly or biannual). Executive presentations Safety performance updates Updates on company achievements, objectives, etc. As the role relates to Ontario Science Centre and other new projects for which Amico is a partner, assist with meeting the obligations of the contract agreement from a communications perspective which includes supporting the Project Communications Plan, Stakeholder Relations Plan and providing content for Media Relations, Townhall and Public engagement requirements and all other Project Agreement requirements. Develop scripts, talking points, and presentation materials for CEO and executive team. Manage internal newsletters, announcements, and change management communications. Support integration communications for acquisitions and new project teams. Coordinate communications related to active construction projects (road works, water infrastructure, LRTs, buildings, etc.). Prepare public notices, stakeholder updates, and community messaging. Manage the company’s social media strategy (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram). Create and publish engaging content showcasing: Major project milestones Safety achievements Employee spotlights Community engagement initiatives Innovation and sustainability efforts Monitor analytics and engagement metrics. Manage brand voice, in consultation with the Brand Manager, and ensure timely responses where appropriate. Assist Brand Manager in coordinating professional photography and videography at project sites. Provide rapid-response messaging for approval and possible presentation by CEO for incidents, project issues, or reputational risks. Coordinate with safety, legal, and operations teams on sensitive matters. Collaborate with Brand Manager and Business Development team on award submissions, and marketing collateral. Support recruitment marketing in coordination with HR. Ensure alignment between communications, employer branding, and corporate strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. 7–10+ years of communications experience (construction, infrastructure, engineering, or industrial sectors preferred). Strong executive writing and presentation development skills. Experience managing social media platforms for a professional organization. Experience organizing and delivering corporate town halls or large internal events. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement in infrastructure or public‑sector projects is an asset. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
