Our client, a privately backed electronics manufacturing platform, is being established to deliver a focused alternative to traditional Tier 1 EMS models, combining advanced manufacturing capabilities, controlled-environment production, and high-reliability execution within a more agile, specialized operating structure. Targeting complex, regulated, and mission-critical applications, the platform is designed to meet and, where appropriate, outperform the standards established by global EMS leaders, particularly in areas where precision, environmental control, traceability, and supply chain security are paramount. Operating from a fully established 37,000 sq. ft. facility, including a 10,000 sq. ft. cleanroom, the organization is purpose-built to support high-mix, high-complexity PCBA and system-level assemblies across prototype, NPI, and scalable production. We are seeking a Vice President of Operations to build and lead the operational execution of a next-generation manufacturing platform designed for customers who require more than traditional EMS delivery models can provide. This platform is intentionally positioned to address the gaps often experienced in large-scale EMS environments, including: Greater operational focus on high-reliability, low-to-mid volume, high-complexity programs, rather than volume-driven manufacturing models Deeper integration between engineering, manufacturing, and customer programs without the constraints of large organizational silos Enhanced agility in decision-making, process implementation, and customer responsiveness A purpose-built infrastructure designed specifically for regulated, mission-critical applications rather than generalized manufacturing. For leaders from organizations with a distinct competitive position in the electronics manufacturing segment, this represents an opportunity to apply Tier 1 discipline in a more controlled, higher-impact, and less diluted operating environment. Platform Capabilities & Technical Differentiation The platform delivers a full product realization model, including engineering collaboration and DFX engagement, structured NPI and industrialization processes, advanced PCBA across SMT, high-density and multi-layer assemblies, system integration including complex box-build and electromechanical assembly, and comprehensive test and validation strategies. Where it differentiates is in its intentional technical focus, including cleanroom-based manufacturing for contamination-sensitive and high-specification assemblies, vacuum soldering processes enabling void-free interconnects critical to reliability in aerospace and defence applications, advanced environmental containment and controlled material handling systems aligned with stringent regulatory requirements, and infrastructure built to IPC Class 3 and other high-reliability standards. The result is a precision-manufacturing environment designed for zero-defect expectations rather than throughput optimization alone. Position Mandate The VP of Operations will build and scale a disciplined, execution-driven manufacturing organization responsible for day-to-day operations, including SMT, controlled-environment production, system integration, quality systems, and supply chain. This includes: establishing best-in-class process control, traceability, and compliance frameworks driving certifications such as ISO 9001 and the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) building a resilient and secure supply chain enabling a seamless transition from NPI through production developing a high-performance team capable of delivering complex customer programs. The role requires balancing technical depth, operational rigour, and hands-on execution leadership to ensure the platform delivers at a level consistent with larger EMS providers, while maintaining its differentiated positioning. Industry Focus The platform is aligned with industries where traditional EMS models are often challenged by complexity, regulation, or performance requirements, including aerospace and defence systems, advanced computing and communications, industrial and automation technologies, medical and life sciences devices, and semiconductor capital equipment. These sectors require precision, compliance, and long-term manufacturing-partnership models rather than commoditized production approaches. Profile This role is specifically targeted toward senior operations leaders currently operating within, or previously experienced in, Tier 1 EMS or high-reliability manufacturing environments. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of leadership in electronics manufacturing, deep expertise in PCBA and SMT processes, experience supporting complex and regulated industries, familiarity with controlled environments such as cleanrooms and advanced soldering technologies, knowledge of health, safety and environmental responsibilities, and a proven ability to scale operations while implementing disciplined systems and processes. Critically, this role will appeal to leaders seeking direct ownership of operational execution, with the ability to build, optimize, and scale a differentiated manufacturing environment, rather than operating within highly segmented or volume-driven structures. We feel this is a career-defining opportunity to step into a senior operational leadership role within a focused, high-reliability manufacturing platform. With advanced infrastructure, integrated lifecycle capabilities, and a strategic focus on high-reliability markets, the organization is positioned to become a preferred partner for complex, mission-critical programs requiring precision manufacturing and supply chain assurance in North America. For an operator who has succeeded within complex electronics manufacturing organizations and is ready to apply that experience in a more hands-on, high-impact environment, this represents a unique opportunity to help build, shape, and scale a next-generation manufacturing platform. #J-18808-Ljbffr
