Civil Superintendent Lower Mainland & Surrounding Regions, BC | Permanent, Full-Time Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Superintendent to oversee and manage municipal and civil infrastructure construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions of British Columbia. The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for leading field operations, coordinating crews and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget. This role is hands-on and requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day field operations on civil construction projects Coordinate and supervise crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility plans Manage schedules and ensure project milestones are achieved Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, consultants, and municipalities Conduct site meetings and daily tailgate safety meetings Monitor productivity, quality control, and workforce performance Identify and resolve construction conflicts and field issues Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety policies Complete daily reports, time tracking, and project documentation Assist with project planning, sequencing, and resource allocation Mentor and develop field staff and forepersons Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders Preferred Experience Minimum 10+ years of experience in civil construction supervision Experience with: Underground utilities Storm, sanitary, and watermain installation Roadworks and municipal infrastructure Electrical underground and streetlighting installation Excavation and grading Strong understanding of civil construction methods and equipment Experience coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage changing priorities Qualifications Valid Class 5 Driver's License Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to read civil drawings and utility layouts Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safe work practices Proficiency with construction documentation and reporting CSTS, First Aid, and/or Traffic Control certifications considered assets What's On Offer Competitive salary based on experience Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Extended health and dental benefits Opportunities for advancement within a growing company Supportive, team-oriented environment Diverse and challenging civil infrastructure projects About Our Client A growing civil construction company specializing in underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, electrical underground installations, and streetlighting projects throughout British Columbia.
