The Role We are seeking a highly skilled AppOps DBA to join our Technology & Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing, operationalizing, and supporting next‑generation on‑premises and cloud database solutions. You will provide technical leadership across Oracle, Exadata, and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms, helping to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence across mission‑critical environments. Working closely with Development, QA, Platform Engineering, and AppOps teams, you will contribute to automation‑led database operations, cloud transformation initiatives, and continuous performance optimization in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment. What You’ll Do Manage and optimize Oracle, PostgreSQL, Aurora, AWS RDS, and Exadata database environments to ensure performance, reliability, and availability. Lead database operationalization initiatives including automation, observability, resiliency, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies. Support and influence cloud migration programs from Oracle on‑premises environments to AWS‑based Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms. Implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code practices, and intelligent automation to streamline deployment and operational processes. Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and support teams while participating in rotating on‑call production support activities. What We’re Looking For Contract for 5 months, with a potential to extension or conversion. Strong hands‑on experience managing Oracle Exadata, AWS RDS, Oracle, and Aurora PostgreSQL database environments. Expertise in AWS technologies including EC2, S3, Aurora, Redshift, AWS DMS, and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT). Deep understanding of database architecture, SQL tuning, PL/SQL, performance optimization, backup and recovery strategies, and high‑availability design. Experience with DevOps methodologies, container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible. Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams. Bonus Points For AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification. AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification. Oracle Cloud or Oracle Database certifications. Experience mentoring technical teams and driving operational best practices. Previous experience supporting large‑scale distributed production environments in financial services or highly regulated industries.
