About the role We’re looking for a Business Development Manager or a Senior Business Development Manager to support our Specialty Solutions team in the GTA. What you’ll do here Develop and implement a business development plan to achieve growth objectives and build business relationships with brokerage firms. Participate in the development of the premium budget for your territory. Implement business development activities adapted to the realities of brokers, including segmentation and broker profile, and adjust your approach and strategies accordingly. Present and sell Intact’s global offer in order to create and maintain interest and proximity for the brokerage network. Know the market and the environment in which it evolves; monitor all activities that influence the business relationships of the firms under your responsibility. Advise brokerage firms on marketing solutions to promote and grow sales of Intact products and services. Use Intact’s marketing intelligence to seize business opportunities and identify threats (e.g., sale-purchase mergers). Collaborate with your manager and directors in motivating the underwriting team to achieve sustained engagement. Share network knowledge with the team and act as a business development mobilizer. Represent your role and region on regional and provincial committees and advise other company areas (Actuarial, Finance, HR, Marketing and more). What you bring to the table Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Ability to negotiate moderate to complex situations. Skill to influence business relationships to achieve development and growth objectives. Good management of pressure to meet objectives. Strong knowledge of the brokerage network. Very good knowledge of business, auto and home insurance products. Proficiency with software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Availability to attend various activities (cocktail parties, conventions, etc.) outside normal business hours. Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a good driving record. High level of autonomy, organization and proactivity. Striving for excellence and being inspired by the client. No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada. Compensation Salary range: 94,200 – 115,200 (based on a 35‑hour workweek; actual salary may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution, internal equity and other factors). Salary will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. We encourage candidates who may fall outside this range to apply. Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance). Target is 12% of base salary.
