The Technical Sales Engineer will join a team of experienced technical sales and marketing professionals to participate in the global sales and marketing functions. The Technical Sales Engineer will use their technical expertise in RTDS’s products and services to assist in acquiring potential new customers and to ensure the satisfaction and retention of existing customers. Position Responsibilities Assess customer needs, short term objectives and long term goals, to determine the simulator configuration that is optimal for their application Act as project leader, maintaining strong customer relationships, and enhancing the customer’s experience, under the guidance of the Technical Sales Manager Use CRM for sales activities and report on CRM data to identify customer or greater market insights Liaise with potential customers to understand and define their specific needs for proposal generation. Prepare technical project proposals and commercial quotations for customers Preparation of tender responses/offers and ownership of the entire process, including contract review and negotiation Coordinate and lead customer visits Make technical presentations of core functions of products and their project-specific application to potential RTDS customers. Coordinate and attend demonstrations of RTDS equipment at potential customer sites Correspondence with RTDS’s worldwide sales representative network, providing ongoing detailed technical support, and strong communication Support marketing communications efforts through participation/technical input in the creation of technical marketing content (marketing collateral, product/technology information, sales documentation etc.) Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of the simulator and the power industry to help inform interactions with customers and proposal development Participation in industry trade shows and international conferences dealing with power system simulation and equipment verification/testing Other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications Minimum University Degree in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on power systems (or equivalent experience) Experience with power system simulation programs such as PSCAD, RSCAD, MATLAB is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Willing and able to travel internationally (approx. 20-25% travel) Experience in a customer-facing role is considered an asset Foreign language skills considered an asset Deadline to apply: May 15, 2026 Benefits Our total rewards package offers a number of additional benefits including vision benefits, fitness reimbursement program, group retirement savings, Costco membership, free parking for IG Field events, maternity and parental wage supplement and more!
