Job Description Senior Full Stack Engineer – Third‑Party SaaS Solutions team at RBC. Opportunity The Third‑Party SaaS Solutions team strategically partners with internal teams and critical third‑party application vendors to deliver key client and employee services using SaaS. In the past, many of these application providers were deployed on premises, where RBC controlled much of the deployment, operational, and security implications. RBC ensured they were deployed with the best practice, secure, resilient manner, leveraging industry‑leading practices to address RBC's risk standards. However, we are in the midst of a fundamental shift in the industry. These third‑party application providers are moving to new as a Service delivery models (e.g., Software as a Service), which poses a new set of opportunities, challenges, and risks to RBC. Responsibilities Autonomously code and troubleshoot Python and/or Java REST API and related software and set up local and shared, cloud environments and resolve issues. Follow software development industry standards and best practices and learn and follow RBC specific development practices and use in‑house tools and systems Provide help to others e.g. development, integration, and troubleshooting Contribute to application implementation solution designs as a senior member of the team Design, code, execute, and support various testing such as performance, integration, user acceptance, post‑production delivery, etc. Play a key, hands‑on role during environment promotions and other deployment activities Lead production and non‑production issue investigations, troubleshooting, and support Participate in Agile software development practice using Jira and Confluence, and in‑house built CI/CD DevOps pipeline tools. Qualifications B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g. physics, mathematics, business), or equivalent practical experience including knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standard, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing. 5 or more years of experience in: Developing and supporting production‑level software Coding with Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript Creating production REST APIs and related technologies in a large organization Developing large, scalable, distributed systems running in Cloud environment Working with fully automated CI/CD pipeline using GitHub or equivalent Working with data processing using JSON, SQL and NoSQL storage systems Working with Docker and Kubernetes; web application and REST API security Working with MacOS/Unix/Linux operating systems as a software developer Working with Agile methodologies and practices using Jira and Confluence Strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Strong team‑player: sharing knowledge and taking responsibility. Hands‑on experience working with Microsoft VS Code.
