Job Description We are currently seeking a qualified Contract Administrator to join our team, based out of Bethune, SK (Regina Area). The Contract Administrator will maintain a continuing review of subcontract progress and provide management with information regarding any financial, legal or technical difficulties. The role also includes preparing change orders and negotiating with subcontractors to obtain settlements. The position supports K+S Potash Canada’s expansion at the Bethune potash mine, a key project with anticipated growth to 4 million tonnes per year. The role is based in Bethune with a 9‑day on / 5‑day off shift schedule (10‑hour days) and may include relocation assistance. Duties & Responsibilities Participate in subcontract administration and utilize client systems. Obtain, review and verify validity of insurance certificates for contract compliance. Prepare final Commitment Authorization and Change Order as required. Represent Bantrel/Client in contractual discussions. Administer contracts to ensure mutual understanding of terms and conditions. Execute commitments within delegated signing authority. Prepare periodic status reports for management. Coordinate with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters. Facilitate Contract Progress Review/Rolling Action Item List Meetings (RAIL). Manage correspondence, log correspondence, and maintain files. Assign, report, and follow up on action items. Log and monitor open contractual items. Check invoices for accuracy and ensure pricing matches contract terms. Verify contract requirements are met before payment issuance. Verify proper deductions for retention, back‑charges, or other offsets. Route invoices to identified disciplines for approval and forward approved invoices to client accounting for payment. Reconcile contractor accounts. Obtain contractor’s Release of Lien and Final Payment. Complete contract close‑outs. Complete contractor evaluation. Participate in operational and/or project reviews and audits. Qualifications Minimum 15 years of progressive experience, including at least 10 years supporting large, complex construction projects within mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, or heavy industrial environments. Demonstrated senior‑level expertise in commercial management, contract law, subcontract administration, negotiations, pricing strategies, claims avoidance, and risk management. Extensive experience operating within live construction environments, with a strong understanding of site execution, contractual risk exposure, and commercial governance. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multi‑disciplinary project teams, including Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Finance, and Accounting. Strong track record of managing client relationships and expectations, including direct interface with senior client stakeholders and delivery partners. Deep experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, driving alignment to contractual obligations, performance standards, and project objectives. Reputation for exceptional integrity, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex, high‑pressure commercial scenarios. Highly developed communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging executive leadership, clients, regulators, and site‑based teams. Demonstrated team‑centric leadership approach, supporting mentorship, knowledge transfer, and capability development across project teams. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and complex deliverables while maintaining rigor, compliance, and schedule commitments.
