The Job: Accounting Manager, Operations We’re seeking an Accounting Manager – Operations to play a key role in managing accounting activities across MFSG’s North American operations. This role will oversee month‑end close, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and partner closely with business teams to support operational and financial performance. What You’ll Do Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Lead month‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across assigned products and accounts Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Accounting Operations & Controls Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies Support audits and liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders Monitor and assess risk areas, ensuring proper controls and governance Manage and support an offshore accounting team, providing direction and coaching Set team goals, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of accounting activities Foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Operations to identify and reduce financial risks, including cash losses Work closely with internal teams across Canada and the U.S. to support business initiatives Participate in cross‑functional meetings and contribute to strategic discussions Process Improvement & Systems Identify inefficiencies and drive improvements to accelerate the close process Support system and process enhancements related to new products and platforms Lead or contribute to projects that improve accounting processes and reporting Analytics & Reporting Perform financial analysis related to revenue, products, and cash accounts Provide insights and reporting to support decision‑making by leadership Support ad hoc analysis and projects as required What You’ll Bring to the Table Strong accounting expertise with experience in financial reporting and operations Proven ability to manage month‑end close and maintain high levels of accuracy Experience working with internal controls, audits, and compliance frameworks Leadership experience managing or mentoring teams Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field 8+ years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and operations 5+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience Experience with US GAAP and internal controls Familiarity with systems such as Oracle Fusion, Kyriba, or Planful is an asset Ready to Lead If you’re looking to take ownership of accounting operations, drive process improvements, and contribute to a high‑performing finance organization, we’d like to hear from you.
