About The Opportunity Based in Toronto, and reporting to the Director, Supply Chain and Procurement, the Supply Chain Business Partner (SCBP) acts as a key strategic sourcing and commercial advisor to our mining operations in Northwestern Ontario and Northeastern Québec. This role drives value through planning, cost optimization, supplier performance, and data‑driven insights that strengthen operational readiness and cost performance. As the primary supply chain interface for site operations, the SCBP ensures sourcing decisions, contracts, and supplier engagements are aligned with business needs, category strategies, and governance requirements. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties Scope of Responsibility Supports two operating mining sites (Ontario & Québec) and future project scopes. Influences annual spend across major contracts, critical consumables, maintenance services, and capital project categories (~$300M). Acts as the primary commercial and sourcing support for Operations and Maintenance for major categories. Ensures category strategies and sourcing events reflect site requirements, Indigenous commitments, and long‑term supplier performance expectations. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Engagement Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Projects to identify demand, cost drivers, and upcoming sourcing needs. Participate in weekly and monthly site planning meetings to align supply chain decisions with operational priorities. Provide structured challenge to spend patterns and develop strategic sourcing opportunities. Commercial Insight & Analysis Conduct TCO analysis, cost modelling, scenario planning, and benchmarking. Develop and communicate market intelligence (labour, fuel, consumables, OEM trends). Forecast cost inflation, supply risk, and commercial impacts to site budgets and AISC. Consolidate insights into monthly and quarterly performance reports. Sourcing & Contracting Support Ensure sourcing strategies reflect category direction, risk management, and site requirements. Support competitive sourcing events: evaluation criteria, scoring, negotiation positioning, and award recommendation. Drive contract development, value realization, and operational adoption. Supplier Performance & Site Alignment Interpret supplier scorecards and provide actionable insights to site teams and Category Leads. Monitor contract compliance, service performance, and value leakage at site. Support and often lead site‑level vendor business reviews. Governance & Compliance Ensure adherence to procurement policy, competitive sourcing requirements, and approval limits. Maintain category strategies, sourcing documentation, and contract repositories. Support audit readiness, internal controls, and compliance monitoring. Ensure Indigenous procurement commitments (IBA/CBA/SPA) are embedded into planning and supplier selection. Qualifications And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or Finance. Professional designations preferred: SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, or similar (completed or in progress). 5–10 years of experience in procurement, category management, supply chain analysis, or commercial roles in the mining industry. Strong understanding of source‑to‑contract and source‑to‑settle processes. Proven ability to turn data into actionable insights. Experience working with IBA/CBA/SPA commitments or with Indigenous business development is an asset.
