Overview We’re seeking 2x Technical Leads / Solutions Architects to provide hands-on leadership across a multi-year transformation program. These roles blend technical depth with architectural oversight, particularly in retail banking systems, vendor product integration, and cloud-native solutions. You’ll set direction on APIs, microservices, and mainframe integrations while guiding teams through complex vendor and internal technology landscapes. Seniority: Senior-level (Tech Lead / Solutions Architect) Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite Bloor/Jarvis Start Date: 2-3 weeks Duration: 1+ year program Employment Type: Contract Rate: $80-90p/h Responsibilities Provide hands-on technical leadership across a multi-year transformation program. Blend technical depth with architectural oversight, particularly in retail banking systems, vendor product integration, and cloud-native solutions. Set direction on APIs, microservices, and mainframe integrations while guiding teams through complex vendor and internal technology landscapes. Engage in full stack engineering with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, TypeScript, and React; design, code, unit test, and integrate new features. Demonstrate SME-level knowledge of retail banking systems and their design implications. Develop and integrate APIs, vendor systems, and microservices; manage mainframe connectivity. Plan and implement packaged product integration approaches. Hands-on work with Azure / AKS, RESTful services, and SQL. Proficient with GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Snyk, and SonarQube. Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers. Familiarity with Agile/SAFe frameworks; use Jira and Confluence for tracking and collaboration. Bridge business and technical stakeholders effectively. Deep background in retail banking systems (underwriting, deposits, payments, etc.). Experience working across complex vendor and internal tech environments. Experience driving automated testing strategies and production release support. Qualifications 7+ years of software development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, TypeScript, and React. Strong design, coding, unit testing, and feature integration skills. Expertise in API development, vendor system integration, microservices, and mainframe connectivity. Experience with Azure / AKS cloud, RESTful services, and SQL.
