As a Senior Compositing Artist , you are the final architect of the image. You are responsible for the seamless assembly of all visual elements—live-action footage, CG renders, matte paintings, and FX—ensuring total artistic and technical consistency. You will operate at the peak of the 2D pipeline to deliver believable, polished, and photorealistic images that meet the rigorous standards of our supervisors and clients. 1. Mastery of the 2D Pipeline You will be expected to carry out digital compositing tasks with extreme precision. This includes: Advanced Integration : Seamlessly blending 2D and 3D elements, paying meticulous attention to lighting, shadows, and reflections. Complex Paint & Prep : Managing high-level rotoscoping, clean plate generation, digital retouching, and complex rig removal. Pipeline Management : Handling precomps, element synchronization, grain management, and sophisticated 2D/3D tracking. Color Science : Applying advanced color correction and grading to ensure visual continuity across sequences. At the senior level, you are more than a technician; you are a creative problem-solver. Aesthetic Consistency : Maintain the visual look of shots in strict adherence to the project’s artistic direction. Who You Are: Qualifications & Technical Profile We are looking for a veteran of the craft—someone who understands that the “magic” of VFX lies in the details that the audience doesn’t see. Professional Requirements: Experience : A minimum of 8 years of high-end digital compositing experience within the feature film or episodic VFX industry. Software Mastery : Expert-level proficiency in Foundry Nuke . Visual Acuity : A profound understanding of photographic principles, including depth of field, motion blur, lens flares, and light behavior. Tracking Skills : Proficiency in Mocha or 3D tracking is considered a strong asset. Pipeline Knowledge : Knowledge of Flow or similar production management tools is highly regarded.
