JOB TITLE: CONTROLLER LOCATION: SAINT LAURENT, QC SALARY RATE: $7,500-$8,300 / MONTHLY CONTRACT DURATION: 3 MONTHS Work closely with the Finance Director on financial control and accounting tasks. Implement internal control measures to validate the work performed by the finance department staff. Establish continuous improvement policies for all accounting positions and monitor their implementation. Ensure the department operates efficiently and in compliance with procedures. Responsibilities: Manage the accounting department. Develop, maintain, and update the department’s ISO procedures based on job descriptions. Supervise accounting operations. Validate and control accounting entries. Prepare and review monthly financial results. Manage petty cash and perform monthly reconciliations. Prepare various month-end reports. Participate in budget preparation and semi-annual consolidations. Implement and monitor internal controls and analyze financial accounts. Work closely with the Director in preparing financial statements. Serve as the main contact for government agencies and oversee related accounting reconciliations. Act as liaison with auditors and banks. Oversee payroll account recording and reconciliations. Review and prepare various year-end reports. Hire, train, evaluate, and ensure the smooth operation of the department. Oversee accounting and financial management of subsidiaries. Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor. Requirements: Post-secondary diploma in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and work experience). Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or equivalent years of relevant experience. 3 to 5 years of experience managing an accounting department, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook). Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken, with the ability to communicate clearly. Strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, teamwork, and analytical abilities. Excellent organizational and planning skills are essential.
