NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Since 1968, Linwood Homes has offered luxury residential construction solutions to customers and its network of dealers. Linwood aims to make the home design and construction process an easy, stress-free and smooth experience for clients. The company works directly with homeowners, providing them with the necessary support, design, materials, and services to construct and finish their new homes. As a Linwood Interior Design Consultant, your responsibilities will include scheduling client consultations and guiding them through the product selection and approval process. You will collaborate with clients to identify their interior finishing needs and prepare a detailed design document package that includes cost estimates for client approval. The Linwood construction team will then utilize this package to complete the home. Additionally, you will assist with home closing and orientation meetings with our clients. This role also involves developing and managing the Linwood supply chain and trade network to ensure the delivery of quality products and services that align with the Linwood Homes construction schedule while maintaining Linwood's high standards. This position provides support to regional Construction and Project Managers, Linwood Sales, Technical Support, Customer Service, and the Linwood Management teams. It is a permanent, full-time role based on typical weekday business hours, with occasional weekend and overtime hours. Travel may be required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties: • Consult directly with clients to determine their interior finishing requirements • Manage customer expectations throughout the process • Prepare a fully costed and priced design document package with client sign-off • Prepare Change Orders for client approval and distribute as required. • Maintain Linwood Interior product standards publications • Maintain supplier relationships and supply chain • Maintain product warranty information and prepare customer product warranty information packages • Maintain Linwood Interior showroom, displays and samples in the Richmond office • Responsible for the timely completion and delivery of the design document package to the Linwood construction team • Follow all Linwood Homes Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies. • Provide ongoing feedback to the Linwood construction costing database. • Actively participate in scheduled Linwood management review meetings as requested. • Provide regular project status reports to Linwood Construction/LI management. • Meet or exceed Linwood Homes' margin targets. Non-core duties: • Any other duties as required to support the business. Working days and hours: • This role is full-time and in-office 9 am- 5 pm, Monday to Friday at the Linwood Homes Richmond office location. 311, 13091 Vanier Pl, Richmond, BC V6V 2J1, Canada COMPETENCIES: • Confident working directly with clients to provide a positive and fulfilling interior design experience with Linwood. • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to collaborate with team members, suppliers, and trades • Supply chain management • Strong understanding and comprehension of engineered drawings, details and technical data. • Practical knowledge of the BC Building Codes. • Thorough knowledge of the Provincial New Home Warranty program and PDI process. • Business planning & management. • Financial planning & management. • Ability to analyze data and draw information for conclusions, planning and problem-solving. • Ability to perform home inspections & orientations. • Advanced communication skills, verbal & written. • Quality Management. • Skilled in time management and maintaining time-sensitive schedules. • Computer skills – general to advanced. DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • College/University (Trade School) Interior Design Diploma • Experience in new home construction, minimum 5 years • Experience working with a provincial new home warranty program. • Contract development and negotiations. • Drafting experience (AutoCAD or equivalent) to create drawings of specific home features.
