Health and Safety Assessor Department:OperationsEmployment Type:PermanentLocation:Remote, CanadaReporting To:VP, HSECompensation:$65,000 - $75,000 / yearDescription Location: (BC preferred open to Remote Canada)As a Health and Safety Assessor, you will be responsible for the accreditation process by meeting program standards and following health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will need to assess the contractors’ applications for Accreditations, in line with Accreditation Standards and assessment procedures in place at the time. Key responsibilities also will include providing support and guidance to contractors as can reasonably be expected and in line with ComplyWorks operational parameters, as well as assist in the effective and efficient progress of the contractor’s assessment, in support of their path to accreditation. We are truly looking for someone who comes with seasoned field experience and the ability to understand and communicate with contractors on a wide variety of work activities.What that means day-to-day:Operate and comply with all SafeContractor processes and procedures pursuant to this role.Complete assessments of contractor applications and supporting documentation.Assist in the development, production and provision of necessary information and support in assisting the contractor to achieve accreditation.Receive, capture, and record contractor information in line with SafeContractor procedures relating to evidence handling.Collate and provide information necessary to produce management information reports.Any other duties commensurate with position and capabilities, as may be required by the business.Communicate with contractors via telephone and email and build a positive and professional relationship as required.Undertake scheduled follow-up calls and maintain reasonable contact as required.Performance Metrics:Process accurate and timely assessment to meet quarterly quality metrics set by Accreditation Manager.Regulatory and program compliance.Accuracy applying regulations.Accrediting contractors in a timely fashion.Accurately entering information into the system.Demonstration of Consistent Behaviors:A supportive and pleasant attitude to all employees and contractor.Integrity in dealing with employees and contractors.Adherence to the Quality Assurance process.Willingness to be an effective team player.Maintenance of client/contractor and company confidentiality.What you’ll need to be successful:Post-secondary education required – Occupational health and safety education (Degree, Diploma, Certificate, etc.).3+ years’ experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role, preferably with working experience/knowledge in the field.Experience in assessing and evaluating safety management systems and compliance standards.Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook), Microsoft Dynamics.What you’ll get in return:Integrated mental health & wellbeing support.Vacation – starting at 3 weeks.Wellness Days & Annual Giving Day – an extra to give back to yourself or your community.Comprehensive medical and dental coverage.End of the year, company-wide shut down for you to relax and recharge.LinkedIn Learning License for upskilling & development.Equal Opportunity Employer We are proudly an equal‑opportunity employer.
