The Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is a non‑profit potato grower organization that aims to increase the success of the potato growing industry in Alberta. To accomplish this, the PGA works on three fronts: education and extension, promotion, and research. The PGA is the voice of the potato industry in Alberta. The Communications Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to ensure PGA maintains a positive brand image while fostering meaningful connections with members, partners, and the public. Responsibilities Strategic Communications & Brand Management Social Media & Website Management including Content Development & Engagement Newsletter Creation & Other Written Correspondence for Member Group Collection & Distribution of News, Events, and Updates Relevant to Growers, Consumers, & Industry Partners Stakeholder & Media Relations Subscription/Application Management Creation of Ongoing Photos & Videos for use both Online and in Print Assisting with Promotional Materials for Public Education & Outreach Other Duties as Required Requirements Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail & accuracy Graphic design and video editing experience Technically savvy with proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Apps, and all social media platforms A desire to present the message of the organization to the members and the public Creative with an eye for detail while being deadline focused & process driven Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle Ag experience/knowledge considered an asset We Offer A diverse and fulfilling role with the Canadian leader in the industry $55,000 - $65,000 annually based on experience Comprehensive benefits package A fun, high energy atmosphere in a unique industry Stable, long‑term employment Please apply online at hire-standard.com or submit resume to We thank all applicants for their interest; only those considered will be contacted.
