Job Purpose Oversee purchasing activities involving raw materials, component parts and supplies. Maintains files of material/supplies purchased for follow-up checks on delivery. Maintains communications with suppliers and internal departments regarding status of products ordered. Process purchase orders, investigate new suppliers and research prices. Role - Typical Duties Research and maintain stock requirements. Place orders for requested parts. Maintain positive vendor relationships and promotes relationship. Negotiates terms and conditions where applicable. Oversees accurate database maintenance of vendor, items, and purchase order files relative to pricing, terms, availability, obsolescence, due dates, etc. Responsibility for timely delivery of product and minimizing delays. Coordinate product status with requesting department or technician. Process and maintain all records pertaining to each purchase order, including verifying pricing to invoices received, payment terms Other duties as related to the job. Skills and Training Required Minium of three (3) year degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. Inventory control experience preferred. Computer experience with database, spreadsheets, word processing, MRP System. Must be able to work with numbers and calculations. Well organized with an attention to detail work ethic. Strong verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to negotiate better deals with suppliers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
