The Company A custom automation company that designs and builds high-speed packaging and production line solutions for major brands across North America is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical). The Role You'll own the mechanical design process on custom high-speed systems from concept through to production-ready. Working alongside machinists, controls engineers, and automation specialists, you'll take ownership of challenging builds and see them through start to finish. Responsibilities Lead conceptual and detailed mechanical design of custom high-speed automated systems Select and specify components based on performance requirements Produce precise, manufacturable engineering drawings Collaborate with machinists and fabricators to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective Work cross-functionally on fully integrated systems Build and test prototypes, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and refine designs as needed Manage design revisions and documentation Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards before production Requirements 5+ years in mechanical design within high-speed automation or custom machine building Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Hands-on knowledge of servo systems, pneumatics, motion systems, GD&T, and machining practices Advanced SolidWorks proficiency; PDM/document control experience an asset
