Some of what you will do The Strategic Account Leader (SAL) is responsible for driving engagement with customers to increase revenue and profit. This is achieved by owning an in‑depth understanding of the customer, providing solutions tailored to their needs, and achieving sales targets across all product categories. The SAL positions Staples with key executives and decision makers and is expected to lead interactions with customers, internal departments (Customer Service, Sales Operations, Marketing, Digital, etc.), and all levels of the Staples organization to meet customer needs and established targets. Specifically, You Will Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to drive revenue growth and deliver on sales targets across multiple product categories. Build and maintain strong relationships with key executives and decision‑makers, providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. Expand relationships into all facets of the customer environment to drive creative and new partnership opportunities. Work closely with diverse teams, including Customer Service, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Digital, to deliver exceptional customer solutions and leverage technologies to enhance engagement and drive efficiency. Utilize deep understanding of the banking sector and expertise in key product categories (Office Supplies, Furniture, Facilities, Technology, and Print) to drive net new opportunities for Staples. Some Of What You Need Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences. Proven experience engaging with senior‑level executives (Director, VP, C‑Suite). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Expertise in consulting, solution presentation, negotiation, and advanced account management. Three to five years’ experience in business development is an asset. Proven track record of delivering to sales targets and overachieving plans. Deep understanding of the banking sector and its unique challenges is an asset. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a lead account management role supporting large market or Fortune 500 customers.
