SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) About The Role We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Food Service Director to lead all food service operations at SAIT. This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality, innovative, and financially sustainable dining program across multiple outlets, including retail, branded concepts, and catering operations. This position requires a strong operational leader who can balance client expectations, student engagement, financial performance, and team development in a fast-paced campus environment. Culinary experiences and well-maintained environments are fundamental to student success. From brain‑powering ingredients to comforting flavor combinations, nutritious food doesn’t have to be boring. Aramark chefs and dietitians are constantly reviewing the latest insights and food trends to find the next culinary innovation and help students discover their love of food. We partner with you to enhance the student experience, support parents, and collaborate with administration, all while delivering on the expectations of parents and the community. Job Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations across all food outlets (including food court with branded and proprietary concepts) Ensure speed of service, product quality, and consistency Maintain food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards Execute Aramark programs and service excellence standards Financial Performance & Accountability Own full P&L responsibility across all locations Manage food cost, labour cost, waste, and inventory Drive revenue through menu strategy and promotions Analyze sales trends and adjust business strategies Client & Campus Engagement Act as primary liaison with SAIT stakeholders Lead Partnership Business Reviews (PBRs) Align programs with student needs and campus trends Support sustainability and food security initiatives Growth & Innovation Introduce new concepts, pop‑ups, and programs Drive adoption of kiosks, mobile ordering, and digital menus Continuously improve guest experience Team Leadership & Development Lead and develop a multi‑unit team Build a culture of accountability and ownership Identify and develop future leaders Ensure effective staffing and training Reporting & Compliance Ensure accurate reporting and compliance Maintain health, safety, and operational standards Monitor KPIs including sales, transactions, and satisfaction Qualifications 5–7+ years of leadership experience in multi‑unit food service or campus dining Strong understanding of high‑volume retail and branded food operations Proven P&L management and profitability experience Experience working with institutional clients Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Success in This Role High‑quality food and service delivery Strong financial performance Engaged team and strong culture Positive client relationships Continuous innovation and improvement If you are passionate about food, leadership, and creating meaningful campus experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
