Location: Montreal, QC – Hybrid (Day 1 onsite onboarding / 3 days onsite per week) Experience: 7–15 years Contract Type: Contract or Permanent (open for both) Role Description We are looking for an experienced engineer to join the ISG Architecture team in an internal enablement and governance-focused role. The consultant will help design and evolve internal tools, automation, and governance mechanisms supporting architecture processes in a fast-moving GenAI environment. This role is focused on internal architecture tooling and governance enablement — not client delivery or product development. The objective is to help architecture teams scale governance in a way that is adaptive, efficient, audit-ready, and aligned with the rapid evolution of GenAI technologies. Key Responsibilities Build and improve internal governance and architecture tooling Develop small services, scripts, APIs, CLIs, and automation utilities Support GenAI intake, triage, readiness assessment, and governance workflows Create tooling for: Architecture pattern alignment ADR generation and analysis Governance evidencing and audit support Exception tracking and governance learning Work closely with ISG Architecture stakeholders and partner teams Translate emerging GenAI risks and architectural patterns into scalable governance solutions Use AI-assisted development responsibly for: Code generation Refactoring Documentation Test creation Analysis and summarization Contribute to adaptive governance approaches based on risk, maturity, scale, and complexity Help embed governance through automation, guardrails, templates, and self-service tooling Profile Requirements Must Have 7+ years of experience in software engineering, internal tooling, platform engineering, or architecture enablement Strong experience with: Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript) REST APIs JSON integrations Async workflows Experience building internal tools, services, scripts, or automation platforms Practical full-stack understanding with ability to connect backend logic to lightweight UIs or internal portals Strong engineering practices: Clean and maintainable code Testing Logging Traceability Secure handling of sensitive data GenAI & Governance Experience Experience using AI coding assistants and AI-assisted development tools responsibly Strong human-in-the-loop mindset with validation of AI-generated outputs Practical understanding of GenAI governance, architecture, and risk considerations Familiarity with: Architecture principles and standards Design reviews and ADRs Governance workflows Risk-based decision making Nice to Have Experience in architecture governance or enterprise architecture environments Exposure to governance automation or internal enablement tooling Knowledge of GenAI risk domains: Security & privacy Model & data risk Operational resiliency Vendor lock-in Regulatory or audit requirements
