Subcontract and Product Compliance Manager Job Description Med-Eng is looking for a Subcontract and Product Compliance Manager located in Ottawa, ON. The role is responsible for supply chain cybersecurity and flow-down obligations related to the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC) and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). It also mitigates organizational risk by ensuring that products meet regulatory standards such as REACH, RoHS, PFAS, Prop 65, GIDEP and Conflict Minerals before and after market entry. In addition, the manager provides project management support for compliance‑related initiatives, including planning, scoping, scheduling, risk management, and execution of cross‑functional activities. The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Legal, Contracts, Compliance, Program Management, Quality, Engineering, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to identify applicable regulations, define and implement contractual flow‑down requirements, track compliance milestones, and ensure timely delivery of compliance objectives in support of government and customer contract commitments. Duties and Responsibilities Subcontracts Manages subcontracts related to domestic and foreign government programs, including interpreting and flowing down requirements to suppliers. Ensures vendor compliance and flow-down clause enforcement. Conducts contract reviews and manages third‑party cybersecurity risks. Supports vendor risk management by ensuring subcontractors meet security obligations. Acts as subject‑matter expert in U.S. Government FAR and DFARS. Familiar with regulatory requirements and supports compliance activities associated throughout the Supply Chain, including NIST 800‑171, CPCSC, CMMC and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Partners with legal and compliance on supply chain risk management (SCRM) to develop and implement a cyber supply chain risk management plan. Product Compliance Familiar with regulatory requirements and supports compliance activities associated throughout the Supply Chain, including Conflict Minerals, NIJ, RoHS, PFAS, Prop 65 and Modern Slavery. Monitors and identifies products in scope for the above regulations. Provides project management support for compliance‑related initiatives, including planning, scoping, scheduling, risk management, and execution of cross‑functional activities. Establishes priorities with key suppliers to ensure schedule development and execution are maintained. Measures and monitors current and potential suppliers for adherence to the standards. Maintains and monitors database integrity within Assent, AX & Innovator. Ensures timely, cost‑effective materials and service acquisition along with the development of product delivery plans and schedules. Collaborates within a team environment and provides support and guidance to buyers, while being able to work independently on assigned projects. Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field. University or college degree relating to Government Contracting, Purchasing or Supply Chain preferred. Knowledge of FAR and DFARS. Previous experience in contract flow‑downs and delivering to government agencies. Strong understanding of CPCSC and CMMC frameworks and requirements. Knowledge of Conflict Minerals, PFAS, Prop 65, REACH, RoHS and Modern Slavery regulations. Experience/knowledge in microcomputer software applications required; MS Office, MRP Systems background and familiarity. Sound knowledge of assisting suppliers in attaining compliance. Strong organizational and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and diplomatically with internal and external customers.
