As a Senior Scientist, you will lead a specialized group of Research Associates to develop methods for stem cell programming and oversee the full lifecycle of product development, acting as a recognized scientific leader and subject‑matter expert. Duties and Responsibilities Act as a scientific Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading technical aspects of complex projects and providing consultancy for intra‑ and inter‑departmental initiatives. Oversee the innovation and optimization of tools to generate diverse cell/tissue types using genome engineering, cell programming, and synthetic biology approaches. Lead and direct the work activities of the group, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Establish annual goals and oversee multiple high‑complexity projects, ensuring rigorous experimental design, research quality, and successful technical support. Apply creative approaches to drive the launch of new products, IP generation, and improved processes, communicating findings effectively with internal and external presentations and collaborating with academic and industrial partners. Knowledge and Qualifications PhD with minimum 5 years of experience, Master’s with minimum 8 years, or Bachelor’s with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a scientific field (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, or a related discipline). Extensive knowledge and proven experience using and/or developing genome‑engineering technologies (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9), including design strategies such as gRNA design parameters, HDR templates, and nucleases to generate engineered cell lines. Experience with human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) lines is required. Experience with cellular programming and/or reprogramming approaches such as transcription factor‑based forward programming is preferred. Practical experience with molecular cloning and/or mRNA synthesis is preferred. Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams, communicate with key opinion leaders and customers, and provide supervision to junior colleagues. Strong understanding of current genome‑engineering landscape, including methodologies, applications, and challenges, with the ability to learn and apply scientific knowledge to new fields and contribute to scientific discussions. Benefits and Compensation The annual salary for this job ranges from $98,900 to $148,300, with compensation based on experience, education, and job‑related skills.
