Position Overview The Contract, Senior Business Analyst is a key member of the Business Transformation team, accountable for supporting the delivery of the mid-to-long-term ERP Modernization roadmap, Business Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy and development, and cost-competitive initiatives with a strong focus on value creation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated Business Transformation (BT) team, partnering closely with Business Opportunity Managers (BOMs), Portfolio Management, AI development teams, and diverse business functions. The Senior Business Analyst will help document, assess, and advance initiatives across business processes, data, operating models, and AI use cases, to achieve strategic outcomes. Key Responsibilities Business Case Development Partner with Business Opportunity Managers (BOMs) to develop, document, and iterate business cases for transformation initiatives. Ensure business cases are refined during early stages and prepared for handoff to execution teams as required. AI Use Case Capture and Prioritization Collaborate with leadership, business stakeholders, and AI teams to capture and define AI use cases. Apply structured prioritization and scoring methodologies to support execution decisions. Process Mapping and Analysis Lead or participate in workshops to document current state and future-state processes. Identify intersections between controls, data, people, and technology for non-technical and IT-enabled projects. Value Tracking and Measurement Work with BOMs and AI developers to define value propositions, KPIs, and success metrics for ERP and AI initiatives. Ensure alignment on expected benefits and measurement criteria to be evaluated at project completion. Governance and Documentation Support the creation of project stage-gate and steering committee materials, including business cases and decision records. Ensure clear articulation of risks, uncertainties, assumptions, and interdependencies. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Maintain ongoing communication with operations and business functions to identify and align value-accretive opportunities. Support enterprise-wide prioritization while adhering to Business Transformation guiding principles. Influence outcomes through strong relationships and collaboration across functions. Ad Hoc Support Provide analytical and documentation support for evolving or emerging priorities of the Business Transformation team as needed. Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications Legally authorized to work in Canada. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience as a business analyst or in a related role. Strong experience working within an oil and gas environment. Skills and Competencies Advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Demonstrated experience with ERP systems, niche applications, and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI). Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
