Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Conveyance for our Water team. The role can be based in Toronto, Hamilton/Stoney Creek, Waterloo or London and is offered in a hybrid work arrangement. This role offers an opportunity to lead and develop designs on technically challenging storm, sanitary, and watermain conveyance projects for clients within the GTA and Southwestern Ontario. You will serve as Project Manager on projects alongside a Technical Lead and a supporting team, leading municipal conveyance designs on a broad variety of projects from small diameter sewers and watermains to large box‑culverts with complex utilities and locations. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to supporting designers and developing professionals. Your Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage projects, responsible for small and large projects of high complexity. Serve as the project’s point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals. Supervise the work of other engineers and designers, including setting priorities for their scope of work, budgets, and schedules. Take responsibility for managing project deliverables and schedules. Provide leadership for civil infrastructure projects, including management of existing client relationships and acquisition of new clients. Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach, and support marketing and business development by positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts. Your Capabilities and Credentials Demonstrated efficient project management and technical leadership on multiple concurrent projects. Understand client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high‑quality deliverables. Requisite knowledge of design and construction codes and ability to interpret and apply them. Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of the project. Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to work flexibly in an office setting or remotely. Ability to collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought. Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems. Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in engineering applications such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is an asset. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university. Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist registered in Ontario. Minimum of 15 years of project management experience in municipal conveyance design.
