Position Summary The accounting technician will participate in all aspects of the accounting cycle. From bookkeeping to data entry, month end closing, GL and ledger reconciliations and all other related tasksDepartment: Finance & AccountingStatus: Full-timeReporting to: ControllerSchedule: Monday to Friday; 37.5 hours/weekLanguage Skills Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required. Professional proficiency in French (written and spoken) is additionally required only for roles located in Eastern Canada. This includes the ability to communicate effectively in business and technical contexts.Payables cycle: Receive and process a large number of invoices. Reconcile balance with vendors, issue checks, issue credit and debit notes.Process checks runs, EFT payments.Enter customer deposits and reconcile customer balances.Actively contribute to AR collections, follow-ups, etcPrepare month end bank reconciliations.Participate in month end closing procedures, journal entries, debits and credits.Maintain general ledger and reconciliation of all accounts.Other accounting and administrative related tasks.Qualifications Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree or Accounting Certificate3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.Technical SkillsIntermediate Computer Knowledge: Able to create, use, navigate and perform reports at an Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Job Specific Software: Basic ability to create, use and retrieve project related information from ERP systems (specifically Microsoft Dynamics), Product Configurator software and Salesforce.Strong knowledge of the accounting cycleRequires skills and a strong sense for defining priorities.This position requires an independent and autonomous individual.Company Description AERZEN Canada Inc., the Canadian division of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH (established in 1864 in Germany), specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality positive displacement blowers, screw compressors, vacuum pumps, and high-speed turbo blowers for a variety of air and gas handling applications.
