Plant Operations Manager – Key Details Competitive Salary 3 weeks vacation Monday thru Friday onsite Plant Operations Manager – Responsibilities Oversee the safe and efficient operation of processing facilities, including cleaning, sizing, splitting, loading/unloading, and maintenance activities, while ensuring food safety and product quality systems are properly implemented Manage cleaning and splitting operations, including equipment performance, grain specifications and receiving standards, and staff assessment, training, and development Identify operational issues and implement solutions to maintain and improve plant efficiency and productivity Improve and enhance machinery and operational processes to support performance and output Lead and supervise processing staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, applicable legislation, and company policies Foster a high-performing culture that promotes innovation, teamwork, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement Develop and implement effective training and mentoring programs aligned with company directives Support budget preparation and ongoing cost management of the processing department while ensuring production is delivered within budget Contribute to operating profit and cash flow objectives Monitor plant performance through reporting systems and recommend, plan, and implement plant and equipment optimization strategies Collaborate with management to analyze performance, set objectives, and align operational strategies with company policies Plant Operations Manager – Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Minimum ten (10) years of management experience in a processing facility Certification in Lean Six Sigma Budget management experience Self-motivated and results-oriented with a high degree of initiative Ability to work effectively under pressure Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in relevant software for maintenance planning and documentation
