Role Description Our compliance team resides within the Dixon Mitchell Investment Counsel Inc. Vancouver offices. Responsibilities Policy Development and Implementation: Formulate, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Compliance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the firm’s compliance programs, identifying and addressing areas for improvement. Audits and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory standards. Advisory Role: Provide advice and guidance on regulatory matters to management and other stakeholders. Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate filings, reporting and communication. Regulatory Updates: Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry and ensure the firm’s compliance programs are updated accordingly. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on compliance-related topics and best practices. Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve compliance issues and breaches, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams and departments on various tasks and projects and perform various time-sensitive tasks and other tasks as needed. Qualifications Proficiency in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance Strong Analytical Skills and experience with Legal Compliance Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal Detail-oriented with the ability to manage sensitive documentation with accuracy Proficiency with compliance-related tools and software is an asset Prior experience in the financial services or investment management industry is preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related discipline Compensation Dixon Mitchell offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plan.
