The firm is known for its collaborative culture, supportive leadership, and commitment to excellence. Position Overview The firm is seeking a Real Estate Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This role will involve providing high-level administrative and file support for residential real estate transactions and mortgage files. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills to keep files moving efficiently, and a commitment to clear, professional communication with clients, lenders, and internal team members. Key Responsibilities Handle initial file setup and intake for residential real estate transactions, including gathering necessary client information and documentation Assist law clerks and lawyers with the preparation, drafting, and proofreading of legal documents, correspondence, and reporting letters Request, track, and organize closing documents, including tax certificates, corporate searches, and insurance binders Coordinate the scheduling of client signings, meetings, and key deadlines within the real estate practice group Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems, ensuring all transaction records are complete and organized Collaborate within a team, supporting clerks and lawyers to ensure a seamless workflow from file opening to post-closing Core Competencies Strong Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy in preparing and reviewing legal documents, ensuring data entry and file details are correct. Efficiency Under Pressure: Capable of prioritizing tasks and working quickly without sacrificing quality, consistently meeting tight transactional deadlines. Exceptional Communication: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully with clients, financial institutions, and internal team members. Teamwork: Works collaboratively within the group, supports clerks and assistants, and contributes positively to the team environment.
