RF Test Engineer The RF Test Engineer contributes to the design support, integration, testing, and validation of electronic and radio frequency (RF) systems within a controlled test facility setting. This role is well suited to a junior engineer or an experienced technologist who is eager to expand their skills in advanced RF test methods, automated measurement processes, Linux-based systems, facility networking, and virtualized test environments. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian security clearance. Key Responsibilities Facility Operations and RF/Electronics Testing Set up, operate, and support RF and electronics test environments, including benches, racks, chambers, and shielded or anechoic enclosures Conduct RF and electronic measurements such as frequency, power, gain, noise figure, phase noise, and intermodulation Carry out test plans in support of development, verification, and qualification programs Assist with system-level troubleshooting of RF hardware, electronic assemblies, and software-controlled systems Develop and apply advanced RF test techniques under the direction of senior engineers Linux, Networking, and Virtualization Support Configure and maintain Linux-based systems used for test automation and data analysis Perform basic Linux administration, including user management, file systems, scripting, and log review Support Ethernet-connected and IP-controlled test equipment Troubleshoot networking issues related to TCP/IP, VLANs, and instrument communications Use virtual machines and virtualized environments to support automation tools and isolated test setups Work closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to support and maintain test facility infrastructure Experience with MPLS networking is considered an asset Equipment, Assembly, and Technical Integration Operate and maintain RF and electronic test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and similar tools Assemble, adapt, and support RF and electronic prototypes as well as test assemblies Build and validate RF cables, harnesses, and interconnect solutions Assist with integrating electronics into test fixtures, racks, and engineering lab setups Support equipment installation and help ensure overall facility readiness Documentation and Compliance Record test setups, configurations, results, and troubleshooting activities Maintain calibration records, equipment status tracking, and facility documentation Adhere to safety, quality, and security procedures, including ESD practices, RF safety, and controlled goods requirements Help improve test processes, documentation, automation, and overall workflow efficiency Education and Experience Required Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, RF Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related field, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, with 2 to 3 or more years of relevant experience Hands-on experience working in an RF or electronics test facility/environment Experience with Linux-based development or test systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
