As the Security Officer, ACSO, you will support Aecon’s Chief Security Officer in leading and overseeing project, site, personnel and information security programs across assigned Aecon projects. Operating within a high‑compliance environment, you will help ensure Aecon projects meet all applicable federal, regulatory and contractual security obligations. Responsibilities Provide direct support to the Company Security Officer in the execution of security governance and oversight responsibilities. Deliver operational, administrative and advisory support to ensure internal and external security protocols, standards and procedures are consistently applied. Oversee and administer security clearance processes for employees, subcontractors and third‑party partners, as required. Maintain and manage all records and data required to obtain and sustain security clearances, including highly confidential and sensitive information. Liaise with relevant government agencies, regulatory bodies and external authorities on security‑related matters. Develop company‑ and project‑specific tools, materials and resources to support awareness, training and understanding of security requirements. Establish, administer and maintain security documentation, policies and procedures to demonstrate and ensure compliance. Act as a central point of coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders on security matters. Monitor, interpret and communicate changes to security policies, directives and requirements, advising stakeholders on implications and next steps. Support assessments and determinations related to access level and clearance requirements, aligned with project and contractual obligations. Qualifications Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information. Excellent understanding of information security, confidentiality standards and records management requirements. Proven ability to interpret and apply project‑specific security requirements outlined in contracts and agreement documents. Prior experience administering security clearances and managing controlled or protected information. Highly self‑directed; able to work independently with minimal day‑to‑day oversight while driving alignment and understanding across stakeholders. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
