Voyago is hiring a General Manager to oversee our Transit Division in the Greater Toronto Area, Central Ontario and Durham Region. This is an immediate opening for a new full time role.Your Role Reporting directly to the Vice President, Transit, the General Manager, Transit is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and growth of the Transit division in the Greater Toronto Area. This role provides strategic direction while overseeing daily operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality transit services that meet contractual requirements and organizational goals.The General Manager will drive operational excellence, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while fostering strong relationships with municipal partners, employees, and community stakeholders. This leader will champion a culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement while supporting business development and long-term sustainability of transit services.Primary Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business PerformanceTranslate organizational vision and strategic priorities into operational plans, measurable objectives, and performance goalsLead initiatives that support growth, service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial sustainabilityIdentify opportunities for service improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovation within transit operationsMonitor divisional financial performance, budgets, and revenue opportunities to ensure profitability and responsible fiscal managementApply a forward-looking approach to identify risks and opportunities and initiate improvements proactivelyOperations ManagementOversee daily transit operations including dispatch, routing, scheduling, and fleet utilization to ensure efficient service deliveryEnsure all contractual service requirements, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and regulatory standards are consistently achievedLead operational planning including service changes, policy updates, and contract start-ups or expansionsMonitor vehicle utilization and operational performance to minimize inefficiencies and improve service reliabilityWork closely with the Health & Safety team to investigate incidents, improve safety practices, and ensure compliance with applicable regulationsReview operational performance metrics and implement strategies to continuously improve service without interruptionLeadership & Team DevelopmentProvide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to managers, supervisors, and operational staffFoster a positive and engaged work environment that supports collaboration, accountability, and employee developmentSupport workforce planning by partnering with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and retain qualified team membersLead performance management processes including goal setting, performance reviews, and professional development planningPromote a strong safety culture through leadership, communication, and regular safety meetingsCustomer & Community RelationsServe as a key contact for municipal partners and major stakeholders regarding operational performance and service deliveryBuild strong customer relationships through proactive communication and engagementParticipate in community initiatives and events to strengthen Transdev's presence and reputation within the regionSupport business development efforts including new contract opportunities, proposals, and service expansionsAdministration & ComplianceEnsure accurate reporting of operational data, KPIs, financial performance, and compliance metricsOversee payroll administration, budgeting, and cost control within the divisionMaintain accurate documentation and ensure integrity of operational, financial, and customer recordsPrepare and present operational reports and performance summaries for senior leadership and client partnersRequirements Your profileYou posses a University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experienceYou have minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an operations or transportation environmentYour experience in transit or transportation operations considered a strong assetYou bring demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational KPIsYou posses strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsYou bring excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilitiesYou can demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced operational environmentYou have excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and operational systemsYou must be able to travel within Central Ontario, the entire GTA and surrounding areas, including North and East of TorontoYou have a minimum valid Ontario G Class Driver's LicenceYou have a Clean Driver's AbstractYou have a Clear Criminal Record SearchYour Location As a General Manager, Transit, you will play a critical leadership role in delivering safe and reliable transit services while helping shape the future of mobility within the communities we serve.
