A49 is currently seeking a BIM Coordinator to join our Toronto office. Reporting to a Project Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining and aiding in the development of BIM standards and automation across the business, including creating templates, shared parameters, families, and automation workflows inside Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk Forma. The role will work hands‑on with designers and architects throughout the project, providing support, guidance, and making changes as needed. Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk Forma experience are required. The BIM Coordinator will also handle quality control and work with the Canadian leadership team on strategic initiatives. Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to the Toronto area. A day in the life Implement national governance structure, approach, and strategy around BIM (Revit, etc.) content in parallel with global and other national programs. Develop and implement strategy around alignment with international, national, and sector-based standards. Supervise BIM/drafting production and processes related to the implementation of BIM for various A49 project services. Bring about model maturity for tracking cost estimating and project control. QA/QC production models to confirm adherence to model standards and agreed deliverables. Implement BIM standards for technical services modeling and project specifications. Maintain best practices for quality control procedures and manage integration workflows. Work with project teams to develop and deliver as‑built models. Perform R&D and maintain best practices to identify opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance processes. Stay updated with latest trends, best practice, and technology. Other duties as assigned or required. What you'll bring to A49 Experience with BIM project coordination. A creative outlook, looking to challenge and improve the status quo. A client‑centric outlook, able to break complex technical challenges into focused client outcomes and communicate with diplomacy and empathy. A degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent (beneficial). Cross‑discipline BIM knowledge including Architectural. Direct experience in the planning and implementation of BIM/VDC protocols in projects (specific design or coordination experience with structural and M&E systems would be an asset). People leadership and project coordination skills with demonstrated ability to multi‑task amid changing priorities and compressed timelines. Understanding of integrated project workflows and essential BIM project coordination and controls. Expert knowledge of and proven practical background in VDC/BIM related software configuration and deployment (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Forma, Dynamo, etc.).
