Schedule: Monday to Friday (in office) with occasional site visits in Indonesia. Introduction Brunel is seeking a Project Manager to support the execution of large-scale mining and metallurgical process facilities projects. This is a contract, engineering home-office–based role located in Vancouver, Canada, with the potential to follow projects through site execution. The role will manage projects from early definition through commissioning, with a strong focus on health and safety, environmental performance, constructability, schedule, and cost control. Occasional travel to site in Indonesia may be required. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day execution of major mining and metallurgical process facilities projects from early project definition through field execution, commissioning, and handover to operations. Lead project development activities including scope definition, execution planning, phasing strategies, scheduling, constructability reviews, and commissioning readiness. Assemble and manage internal and external project resources to ensure accurate scope definition, cost estimates, and execution schedules. Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery. Interface closely with corporate and site-based stakeholders including operations, supply chain, finance, environmental, risk management, and health and safety teams. Secure and manage third-party engineering firms, consultants, contractors, and EPCM partners to support engineering studies, investigations, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Establish project governance, communication plans, and productive working relationships across all project stakeholders. Direct and monitor project team performance to ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. Work closely with project controls teams to monitor progress, manage budgets and schedules, and implement corrective actions as required. Lead the development of execution strategies with a strong emphasis on constructability, QA/QC, and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and community requirements. Implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs and take accountability for project HSE performance. Maintain full accountability for project cost, schedule, execution quality, contractor performance, and overall delivery outcomes. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in project and construction management; or High School diploma or GED with a minimum of thirteen (13) years of progressive experience in project and construction management. Demonstrated experience managing mining and metallurgical process facilities projects. Strong knowledge of project management principles, engineering, project controls, procurement, contract administration, construction, and commissioning. Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects with significant budget and schedule responsibility. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general business systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing projects valued over USD $500M, particularly large mineral processing facilities. EPCM and design office project management experience. Heavy industrial construction project management background. Experience with Lean Construction practices and advanced construction planning. Experience managing large workforces and driving productivity and performance improvements. Solid background in heavy machinery and industrial equipment installations. Understanding of labour planning, forecasting, and workforce management. Experience developing KPIs and tracking performance metrics.
