Reporting into the General Manager, this position is responsible for the Ramp Health and Safety program for the unit and further responsible for auditing and controlling of the ramp safety processes including preventative and corrective action measures. The Ramp Supervisor’s role is to demonstrate knowledge of proper ramp usage, safety, security and demonstrate leadership skills, leading by example. Supervisor must have planning skills and be responsible to assist with scheduling ramp agents. Assist General Manager by overseeing, coordinating and participating in all activities related to ramp operations. Training new hires is a key objective of this role. Main Duties and Responsibilities Conducts safety training programs Training of all new hires Responsible for investigation and documentation of all accidents and injuries to determine root causes and assists unit and regional management with developing corrective action Ensures compliance with company and regulatory safety policies and procedures Develops and implements best practices Conducts ramp safety audits and provides on-the-job training Supports aircraft incident root cause investigation and reporting Works with unit to secure full compliance with OSHA (or similar) regulatory compliance Controls proper maintenance of CDL (Commercial Driver License) files at the unit as required by company policy Monitors, controls and drives improved compliance Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp Direct others with knowledge of ramp service and operational functions Work under pressure while maintaining near 100% on time performance Encourage team cooperation through briefings and leading by example Ability to determine when tasks are complete and review daily reports Communicate efficiently with upper management, agents and flight crews Ensure all team members practice all safety policies and procedures Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure on time performance of flights Comply with all security requirements of air carriers Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure on time performance of flights Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: Minimum qualifications include High School graduate or equivalent Preferred qualifications include degree in the discipline of occupational safety and or risk prevention Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of safety and/or risk experience required Previous in airline, manufacturing, distribution operations or other fast paced environment Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience High school diploma, GED and two years of ramp experience preferred Able to read, write, speak and understand English Must possess a valid driver’s license, pass a required pre-employment background check Must complete paperwork accurately and have basic computer skills Excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic Present a neat professional appearance and demeanor Must be punctual & dependable Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work a variety of shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays Willing to work in a time-sensitive and fast paced environment All your information will be kept confidential according to Gate Group and Gate Gourmet guidelines and other guidelines pertaining to other governing bodies pertaining specifically to airport or airline industry Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) Required to have valid RAIC and DA (Driver’s Airside) Language / Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English #J-18808-Ljbffr
