Job Location:New Liskeard, Northern OntarioJob Type:Full-Time | PermanentSenior Mechanical Engineering Technologist Position Overview EXP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CET) to support mechanical design, drafting, field services, and project coordination on infrastructure and industrial projects. This role is ideal for an experienced technologist who enjoys hands-on involvement, technical leadership, and working closely with engineers, clients, and contractors.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and review detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and InventorDevelop technical specifications and perform basic engineering calculations (loads, tolerances, thermal, stress) within technologist scopeCoordinate with mechanical engineers, contractors, vendors, and fabrication teamsPrepare and maintain project documentation, including BOMs, schematics, test reports, and manualsSupport prototype development, testing, and design revisionsConduct field inspections, quality checks, and compliance reviews with applicable codes and standardsProvide on-site support for installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and equipment assessmentsMentor junior technologists and technicians, providing technical guidance and leadershipManage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teamsApply expertise in mechanical systems, including:HVAC systemsFluid and piping systemsRotating equipmentManufacturing and fabrication processesQA/QC practicesQualifications & ExperienceMechanical Engineering Technology diplomaCET certification or equivalent (OACETT membership preferred)Proven experience in mechanical design and multidisciplinary projectsAdvanced proficiency in CAD software:SolidWorksAutoCADInventorRevit considered an assetStrong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, fluid systems, and rotating equipmentAbility to perform basic engineering calculations and interpret design codes and standardsExperience with QA/QC, fabrication, and construction environmentsHands-on experience with installations, commissioning, and troubleshootingStrong communication, leadership, and mentoring skillsExperience coordinating vendors, contractors, and project schedulesField experience including inspections, measurements, and equipment assessmentsSalary:$60K - $80K (depending on experience, certifications, and location)EEO Statement:EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
