Reporting will rotate between the Director, Design Women’s Athletic and the Senior Manager, Design Women’s Lifestyle, offering broad exposure to differing creative approaches while maintaining a cohesive design point of view. This role is well‑suited to a designer with a strong point of view who is comfortable working across disciplines, enjoys solving design challenges through fabric and construction, and is energized by shaping products that sit comfortably between sport, studio, and everyday life. about the teams The Women’s Athletic team creates performance‑driven product across Golf, Tennis, Yoga, Run, and Train, balancing technical functionality with a clean, modern design language and visual restraint. The Women’s Lifestyle team designs elevated essentials and versatile separates that form the foundation of a modern wardrobe. Proportion, drape, and material quality are at the heart of the work resulting in thoughtful silhouettes, refined detailing, and pieces designed to be worn every day, effortlessly. This role moves fluidly between Lifestyle and Athletic teams based on seasonal and business needs, offering exposure to both fashion‑led and performance‑focused design contexts. Reporting will rotate between the Senior Manager, Design Women’s Lifestyle and the Director, Design Women’s Athletic, providing a broad and well‑rounded leadership perspective. how we work: In close partnership with Development, Technical Design, Fabric, Fit, and Merchandising, this role translates creative intent into beautifully executed, high‑quality product. The process connects concept to construction, ensuring garments move comfortably on the body while meeting lululemon’s standards of performance, durability, and aesthetic refinement. Designing within this space requires strong fabric and trim expertise, confident draping and construction skills, and a clear understanding of how garments perform in motion. The work balances technical functionality, comfort, and longevity with modern proportion and elevated detailing. This role works across both teams in response to seasonal category needs, providing a broad and well‑rounded design remit and close collaboration with diverse design leadership. what you’ll do Lead the design of assigned categories, creating refined Athleisure and Lifestyle product that integrates performance thinking into everyday wear to create elevated essentials, refined separates, and modern wardrobe foundations with a sophisticated, fashion‑forward sensibility. Design modern silhouettes that balance movement, comfort, and contemporary style. Translate creative vision into precise sketches, CADs, and technical packages, clearly communicating construction, drape, proportion, and trims. Drive fit, fabric, and finish conversations, working in close partnership with Development, Technical Design, and Fabric teams to achieve high‑quality execution. Apply strong knowledge of both performance‑led and elevated lifestyle fabrics, trims, and raw materials to deliver purposeful, well‑considered product that feel fluid, considered, and purposeful. Partner with Design leadership to research, develop, and introduce exclusive materials, trims, and finishes that elevate the assortment. Contribute to colour and graphic stories informed by sport, culture, and modern lifestyles, aligned to seasonal direction. Ensure each product reflects lululemon’s aesthetic codes, design integrity, and construction standards while challenging conventions where appropriate. Support and mentor junior designers, fostering technical confidence, curiosity, and collaboration. Stay informed on global fashion, activewear, culture, and sustainability, applying insight selectively rather than trend chasing. Champion innovation in fabric development, modern construction techniques, and responsible material choices. who you are An experienced womenswear designer with a strong point of view and a disciplined approach to craft. Comfortable designing across Athletic, Performance, and Lifestyle categories, adapting your thinking without losing design integrity. Confident collaborating cross‑functionally and communicating design intent with clarity and conviction. Curious, pragmatic, and motivated by creating product that earns its place in a crowded market. qualifications 8+ years of professional design experience. A strong portfolio showcasing women’s apparel across multiple categories, balancing elevated lifestyle design with versatile, functional separates. Deep expertise in fabrics, draping, trims, fit, and garment construction. Skilled in hand sketching, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience working with global development calendars and overseas manufacturing partners. Proven ability to mentor junior designers and collaborate effectively across disciplines. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting design work. The typical hiring range for this position is from $130,000 to $170,000 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
