The A220 commercial aircraft program is seeking a candidate to join our Cabin Interior Certification team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the Cabin Integration, Occupant Safety and Flammability teams. You will be part of the Cabin Interiors Structural Stress team responsible for certifying new monuments and seats for new aircraft configurations, supporting configuration changes for production and in-service aircraft, and supporting development (ongoing and new projects). The team is organized to promote cross‑functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, supporting one another and learning collectively. Your role will be to participate actively in the development and certification of cabin interiors, integrate the various activities leading to certification, work on test campaigns for monuments and interior components, and on static and dynamic test campaigns for seats — all supported by Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This role may also provide the opportunity to become a member of the Airbus Canada Design Approval Organization (DAO) as a Design Approval Delegate (DAD), if interested. Your challengesLead high-visibility projects by assuming a technical leadership role in project execution and providing the high-level oversight required during project ramp‑ups. Define certification strategy/plan for interior monuments, liners & seats. Support design activities related to interiors. Monitor, support and provide guidance to interior suppliers to ensure a quality product and support production of certification documentation. Review & approve structural substantiation reports from interior suppliers in support of development and certification of new cabin monuments and seats. Review & approve Finite Element Models (FEM). Support the development, execution and revision of test data for material allowable and sub‑component structural testing. Provide visibility to management of status and/or emerging issues related to the supported activities. QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with approximately 15 years of relevant aerospace industry experience. Good knowledge of aircraft interiors and seats certification requirements. Experience working with national certification authorities such as FAA, TCCA, EASA and eligibility to rapidly become a delegate. Experience witnessing certification tests for seats or monuments. Excellent knowledge of stress analysis (metal and composite): With primary structure, with interiors, with seats. Good knowledge and understanding of FEM and FEA. Knowledge of MS Patran/Nastran, HyperMesh/View and CATIA V5 is an asset. Initiative, good planning and communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work in a multidisciplinary team under high pressure and sound judgment.
