Posted Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 5:00 a.m. Job Title: Electrical Shop Supervisor Location: Cambridge, ON | On-Site Job Type : Full-Time Compensation: $105,500 - $130,000 Benefits: RRSP, health/dental/vision package, reimbursement for tuition and professional dues, paid vacation, personal days, and sick days The Position: The Electrical Shop Supervisor provides leadership and coordination for the Electrical department, with direct involvement in project execution from planning through completion. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing departmental policies and procedures while coordinating resources, schedules, and priorities to support successful project delivery. The Electrical Shop Supervisor works closely with Project Management, Tool Room, and Engineering teams to ensure electrical scope, production timelines, and project budget objectives are met. In addition, the Electrical Shop Supervisor leads and mentors the electrical team and apprentices, while actively promoting the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture through daily operation. What You’ll Be Doing: Technical: Review electrical drawings and revisions as needed prior to assembly Ensure all electrical assemblies are built to customer product specifications Recognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issues Enter and/or update department employee reports and job tasks allocations Ensure project tasks are entered correctly and promptly for accurate man hour records for project management department Ensure that electrical assembling techniques meet all Eclipse quality standards Participate with research and development of prototypes for concepts that will give Eclipse a competitive edge on new customer proposals Provide proper tools and materials for specific department processes Assist with all relevant non-conformances, ensuring timely closure, effective identification of root cause and corrective actions Maintain and control department tools and materials inventory Implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures within the company’s continuous improvement programs Provide internal labor support for Eclipse customer service activities and for Eclipse facility maintenance, repairs, and expansion work Other duties as assigned Leadership: Plan, assign, and prioritize work to ensure tasks align with team members’ skills and development goals Ensure contractual communication is clearly understood and the information is completely and clearly transferred from the Project Management and Design groups to the Electrical teams Monitor project progress, resources, and labour requirements to meet deadlines efficiently Promote positive relations between departments and with partners, customers, vendors, and distributors Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations which support continuous improvement initiatives Enforce Eclipse policies throughout the department including Human Resources, Safety and Environmental Continuously resource new innovative solutions for corporate competitiveness Ensure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy Promote Personal Development and Safe work practices, working environment and improving department operations Ensure all electrical work is performed safely, adhering to regulatory codes, company policies, and best practices, while fostering a culture of safety awareness within the team. Consult and cooperate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and cooperate with others carrying out H&S duties Project Execution: Participate in project kick-off meetings, providing guidance and feedback to the PM team to ensure a smooth and successful launch Ensure scheduled milestones are met and notify the appropriate departments if milestones cannot be met Ensure project budgets are met and notify the appropriate departments if the budget is at risk Ensure that Company ISO Standards are followed Liaison between all departments to ensure on time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipment Ensure all open issues are resolved in a timely manner and escalated to the appropriate departments when a resolution cannot be determined Work requires flexible hours to get a project completed and work a flexible schedule Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business Travel: Expectation of travel to Eclipse locations is less than 10% of time, however, may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet organizational needs What We're Looking For: Has successfully completed an Electrician Certificate (Industrial / Construction Maintenance) Master Electrician Certificate is considered an asset Has completed a college diploma, CEGEP, vocational or technical training Computer skills needed in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and understanding database operations. 10 years’ work experience in the custom automation industry Experience in electrical assembly for automation and troubleshooting Job task planning and organizing Working in a team environment What We Offer: Reimbursement for tuition and professional dues 3 weeks of vacation and 3 paid personal days (to start) RRSP matching program Free snack program Why Join Us: Here at Eclipse Automation, creation and innovation are at our core, and our culture reflects that.
