Role HR Generalist, Talent Operations Location Burnaby, BC Salary Range $68,000 - $73,000 The Role As HR Generalist, Talent Operations, you’ll support the full employee lifecycle—keeping HRIS (RISE) data accurate, running onboarding/offboarding, and answering employee questions. You’ll also support recruiting, benefits and wellness, and help keep HR and health & safety practices compliant and clear. Your core responsibilities Talent Journey Ensure the company’s HRIS (RISE) remains complete and accurate Coordinate pre-boarding and onboarding Ensure IT has all specs for proper setup Set up on all internal systems Prepare new hire for their first day Assist new hire through probation period, conducting regular check‑ins Support probation period including probation end activities Complete offboarding activities as directed Ensure Website Team page is up to date Prepare and send companywide communications Run required HR & Payroll reports when requested Ensure the talent recognition program (Guusto) is up to date and funded Talent Acquisition Execute the recruitment and selection of Operations based roles as directed by the Senior Manager, Talent Operations Assist Hiring Managers through the recruitment process Ensure the annual recruitment budget is kept up to date Complete background and reference checks Review and code benefit invoices (MSP, PBC, ACE/INA) for review Add new employees and administer benefit packages Oversee changes to employee plans as needed First point of contact for questions regarding benefits Support health & wellness programs; providing resources, bi-weekly Watson Wellness emails Health & Safety Research and book annual flu shots for all locations Attend and record minutes for JOHSC meetings, workplace inspections and investigations Review H&S policies and ensure compliance with provincial standards Compliance & Operations Maintain HR Processes & Procedures and WG Policy & Procedure Manual Ensure HR practices align with employment legislation Track required training Coordinate Worksafe BC, WCB and WSIB programs and claims process Assist with workplace investigations when required Talent Branding Internal: send out communications on National Days recognized by the company, weekly Watsonversaries and any “good news” posts Other Ensure HR information is kept up to date on MS Teams Ensure the HR Manual is updated regularly First point of contact for team member inquiries Assist the HR Team with projects and system improvements Administrative support to HR Leadership, taking HR related minutes for engagement roundtables, investigations, etc. What YOU BRING to Watson Gloves Post secondary education in a related field Working towards CPHR considered an asset 3+ years experience working in an HR Generalist capacity Experience working with Unions Strong organizational and analytical skills, high attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage their time well Team player who thrives in a fast paced, high intensity, dynamic environment Strong knowledge of HR functions and procedures Familiarity with Employment Standards Acts for: BC, AB, ON, QC (all locations of employees) Familiarity with HR policies Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals Ability to act with tact, good judgment and discretion; maintaining confidentiality of files, personal information, and other matters as appropriate A positive attitude, creative mindset and customer focused approach Strong working knowledge of MS Office and HRIS experience US/Global experience considered an asset Our VALUES Family Spirit: we support each other and we work as a team Fun: we work hard and play hard Authentic: we are true to who we are and what we do Continuous Improvement: We continually invest in our people and improving our processes What we OFFER Competitive compensation package including bonus opportunities Comprehensive benefits package and time off policies RRSP matching program Company laptop & cell phone Opportunity to work from home 1 day per week, eligible after 90 days of onsite work Opportunities for professional development through our Talent Investment Program On-site gym and fitness equipment On-site parking available Great work environment & culture— we're recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies 2025!
