Dentons Canada offers a Canada Director of Legal Solutions role to support practice groups in executing strategies efficiently and effectively. This new senior leadership position reports directly to the Chief Transformation Officer and seeks a strategic leader to drive the firm’s transformation agenda. RESPONSIBILITIES Partner closely with practice groups to understand their strategic objectives and operational challenges, identifying the capabilities needed to support the delivery of legal services and foster innovation. Engage directly with clients to understand pain points and collaborate with lawyers in designing innovative client solutions that improve efficiency and enhance legal work product. Assess, recommend, and implement solutions—people, process, or technology—to optimize legal workflows. Serve as a change agent and strategic advisor, monitoring industry trends in legal technology and identifying improvement opportunities. Act as liaison between practice groups and the firm’s technology and business teams, translating needs into actionable requirements and ensuring adoption of platforms and tools that support seamless legal service delivery. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to leverage best‑in‑class tools and design cutting‑edge solutions. Oversee the design, testing, rollout and evaluation of new processes and tools, focusing on measurable results and continuous improvement. Lead complex projects and initiatives that advance the firm’s transformation agenda, applying change management best practices and engaging stakeholders throughout. Implement KPIs and regular reporting to measure the effectiveness and impact of legal solutions, including metrics related to revenue growth and profitability. Manage and develop a diverse national team of legal technology and practice innovation experts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and client‑service excellence. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Legal industry acumen and technical competency. Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills. Proven problem‑solving ability, with the capacity to identify and analyze complex issues and recommend actionable solutions. Robust understanding of project management and change management. Client‑service orientation. Results‑oriented mindset. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent experience required. Significant experience with legal process improvement and legal technology solutions. Minimum of ten years in a legal services environment, with experience in practice management, legal operations, or knowledge management. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation in legal technology and operations.
