Reporting to the Associate Director, Information Management and Security, the role of Senior SAP Solutions Architect is held accountable for the implementation and ongoing support of SAP modules within the Company’s operations, including providing functional expertise, guidance, presentation, and instruction on system best practices to process owners. The Senior SAP Solutions Architect also shares industry experience for robust, integrated, and end‑to‑end solution recommendations for the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA). This role will collaborate with all stakeholders, provide excellent customer service, and promote a solutions environment. It demands both a strategic and hands‑on mindset. Responsibilities Acts as a trusted advisor to internal users by proactively building relationships with the business, colleagues, and external stakeholders to understand the business as‑is state and roadmap. Works with preferred vendors to understand product roadmaps and recommend new solutions and ideas to enhance the business model. Uses industry consulting methodologies to understand business requests/expected outcomes to translate and document them into requirements, prototypes and/or technical solutions. Evaluates current business problems and provides advice on the applicability and usability of alternative technology products or solutions. Leads conversations in ambiguous situations and influences discussions to guide users to make decisions and reach a resolution on outstanding items/issues. Leads meetings to communicate technical landscape and complexities to all relevant stakeholders. Works with businesses to identify prioritization conflicts and proposes alternative solutions or options. Provides inputs in promoting and implementing best‑practice solutions for SAP business processes and product capabilities. Is actively plugged into external product communities, user groups, etc. and researches to develop knowledge and bring forward best practices and ways to research to maximize business value for technical solutions. Business/Technical Collaboration & Execution FICO: Provides guidance and application support for financial accounting and controlling processes, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset accounting, cost center accounting, and profitability analysis. Material Management: Oversees maintenance, enhancement, upgrade to material procurement, inventory management, and vendor management processes, ensuring seamless operations. Plant Maintenance: Provides deep application knowledge and support on maintenance processes, including preventive maintenance, work orders, equipment management, and maintenance planning. SAM Application: Manages the lifecycle of software assets, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency. Provides end‑to‑end technical direction and execution (analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, deployment) across various SAP modules & applications for projects within TPA. Manages relationships with SAP Support vendors and all related support and maintenance requests. Manages all SAP‑related updates and upgrades from development through user acceptance and into production. Leads the overall analysis, scoping, estimating and planning for initiatives within TPA related to SAP interactions and interfaces. Rationalizes and documents technology requirements that match proposed products/services to address stakeholder needs. Understands the as‑is situation and goals of the TPA Business units and contributes to roadmap design (processes, applications, systems, new functionality, migration and conversion) and the appropriate operating concept based on SAP's offerings, enhancing efficiencies and the employee experience. Works with internal colleagues and external technical partners to investigate and research problems and provide solutions. Designs and delivers high‑quality solutions through system configuration and/or requesting technical development that meets overall business requirements. Designs, develops, and implements functionality for required collections and disbursement processes; works with business and IT teams to validate business requirements and achieve system development goals. Provides technical support for SAP system maintenance and enhancements, including integration into other systems. Performs regular system maintenance tasks, such as implementing Support Packs and enhancement packs and all SAP‑related activities. Fulfills operational or enhancement work requests as needed. Is comfortable working with ambiguity. Transformation & Continuous Improvement Acts as a change agent by actively promoting the review and implementation of new department technologies, methods, practices and tools to evolve corporate technology's product and service offerings. Proactively seeks out and recommends process, automation and system opportunities to reduce manual effort/time and decrease implementation time. Proactively acquires new knowledge through online learning/training, knowledge transfers, research and external community participation to apply innovative thinking to solve problems. Applies a high level of detail to work and consistently looks for ways to improve the quality of a product. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 5 years of SAP transformation, technical advisory or consulting experience, or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 3‑5 years of SAP PM implementation and configuration experience. Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is an asset. Proficient in designing, developing, and implementing functionality within the SAP application, with experience in Finance, Material and Facilities Management functions. Experience creating functional documentation for data migration, field mapping, rules, etc. Strong understanding of PCI DSS compliance. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with teams across the organization. Exellent leadership and decision‑making skills, with strong knowledge of project management principles. Can work outside of regular work schedule when the position demands.
