What is the opportunity? As a member of the Wills and Trusts Resource Group (WTRG), the Senior Consultant will provide legal support, analysis, and recommendations on estate, trust and power of attorney matters to RBC Canadian Wealth Management businesses. The role focuses on account administration and maintenance to improve client experience and support revenue generation by retaining funds and opening new trust accounts. Responsibilities Conduct legal research, analyse and provide guidance on estate, trust and power of attorney issues escalated by Wealth Management businesses. Prioritise escalations based on urgency and provide timely recommendations. Act as subject matter expert and support policy development to manage risk and promote consistency. Coach and mentor junior consultants and vendors on legal issues and documentation. Stay current on developments in fiduciary law, including common and civil law. Represent WTRG and RBC Wealth Management at internal and external seminars and contribute to thought‑leadership activities. Identify trends and assist the business in developing policies and procedures to address gaps. Must Have Common Law degree and called to the bar in a Canadian common law province. 5+ years of experience in estate and trust industry with legal training. Strong interpersonal, time‑management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Sound judgement, problem‑solving and self‑management. Willingness to continue learning civil and common law estate and trust concepts. Nice to Have Trust designation preferred (MTI or TEP). Bilingual language skills.
