Overview By joining the Kardium Automation team, you will help bring a groundbreaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation to patients. Kardium has obtained FDA approval for the Globe® Pulsed Field System and is now on a pivotal launch phase. Please note, this role is a hybrid work arrangement located in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities Design, implement, improve, and support software, firmware, and electronics for Kardium’s custom automated equipment (e.g., lasers, motion systems, pneumatic valves, heaters). Develop object‑oriented software in C# and Java, and firmware in relevant embedded languages. Select and integrate control‑system electronics. Capture and document requirements for custom automated equipment. Organize and participate in multi‑disciplinary design reviews. Transfer equipment to end users and provide ongoing support. What You Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline. Extensive experience in medical device automation. Strong object‑oriented software development skills. Experience developing firmware and electronics for embedded systems (PCB design, wiring harnesses, component selection). Experience implementing machinery‑safety control systems per ISO‑13849. Experience implementing temperature, motion, or other physical control systems, considering relevant codes and standards. Compensation Base salary + 5% RRSP contribution, total cash compensation range: $108,000 – $170,000 CAD annually. Salary will be determined based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and business factors. As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock‑option plan.
