This newly created, senior-level position leads the financial reporting function across the Globeducate Canada group, overseeing internal and external reporting requirements. The role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information, manages key third‑party relationships, and supports the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and strategic financial planning. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial results, including all supporting schedules and analyses. Oversee consolidation processes. Maintain internal controls over financial reporting and identify opportunities to strengthen controls and processes. Prepare financial reporting packages. Internal Reporting & Analysis Oversee preparation and distribution of monthly actual‑to‑budget reporting packages for all departments. Investigate variances, ensuring proper follow‑up with department heads and providing meaningful explanations to leadership. Develop dashboards, KPI reporting, and analytical tools to support financial decision‑making. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Lead the annual budgeting process, including timeline management, stakeholder coordination, and consolidation of all budget submissions. Prepare rolling forecasts and multi‑year financial projections. Support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and financial modeling as required by the CFO. External Reporting & Compliance Coordinate all external reporting requirements, including regulatory filings, compliance reporting, and submissions to parent company, government, or any other parties requiring reporting. Ensure deadlines are tracked and consistently met. Third‑Party Relationship Management Act as the primary liaison for all partners, including auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers, bankers, and legal counsel. Manage audit and review engagements, ensuring timely and accurate responses to requests. Manage all requests for information/reporting from stakeholders. Oversee insurance renewals, banking documentation, tax filings (in collaboration with external advisors), and other third‑party reporting. Process Improvement & Systems Identify, design, and implement improvements to financial processes, workflows, and reporting tools. Support the evaluation and implementation of financial systems and automation opportunities. Qualifications & Experience CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent) required. 5–10+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, preferably in a multi‑entity or complex environment. Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, ASPE). Prior experience managing external audits and third‑party relationships. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with QuickBooks accounting systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
