Purpose of the Position IEM is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer (Early Career) (Continuous Improvement Engineer, E1) for our Surrey, B.C. locations who will report to the Senior Manager, Process Engineering. Join our transformation journey as an early‑career lean professional supporting kaizen activities, standard work documentation, and data‑driven process improvement. This is a hands‑on role ideal for candidates with a passion for lean manufacturing and a desire to grow in a structured CI environment. Please note: 100% in‑office presence in our Surrey offices is required; remote work is not offered. Key Responsibilities Support kaizen events through data collection, time studies, layout prep, and post‑event sustainment Help document standard work, work instructions, and visual management tools Assist in root cause analysis, 5S audits, and daily tier meetings Capture baseline metrics, analyze waste, and support implementation of improvements Participate in lean training and mentorship from senior CI leaders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or equivalent OR technical associate’s degree with practical experience Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization Up to 3 years of experience or internship in manufacturing or industrial environment Familiarity with lean tools (standard work, 5S, PDCA, takt time) through coursework or project experience Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Compensation range: CAD 33.65 – 40.38 per hour. Compensation may vary based on internal equity, geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional bonuses and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided.
