NWI Precision is currently seeking experienced Plant Manager . The Plant Manager is responsible for all production activities within the aerospace manufacturing facility, ensuring that shafts, masts, and links for aircraft engines are produced to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role oversees daily operations, leads production teams, enforces compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards, and drives continuous improvement across machining, assembly, and inspection areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Safety: ensuring adherence to all company and regulatory safety policies. Complete JHA’s as needed and lead in safety walks. Leadership: Oversee and coordinate all manufacturing operations, from raw material intake, to final inspection and shipping of aerospace components. Compliance: Maintain compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and internal aerospace quality procedures. Process Capability: Track and improve CPK. Measure, analyze trends, correct drifts to sustain AS9100 compliance. Continuous improvement and Kaizen Events: Lead and participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives in productivity, cost reduction, and precision machining processes. Champion 6S throughout the facility. Key Metrics: Ensure performance standards are met for all departmental KPI’s, including efficiency, downtime, and quality results. Maximize earned hours and productivity. On-Time Delivery: Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are consistently met. Machine Monitoring: Maintain and lead excellence in machine utilization metrics using Factory Wizard in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance. Schedule machine PM to maximize uptime. Collaboration and Trouble Shooting: Problem solving with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements. Provide technical support to lead hands. Manage plant resources and Layout: Effectively manage all resources, including labour, materials, and overhead budgets. Optimize plant layout by retiring obsolete equipment and consolidating capabilities. Leadership and Performance Reviews: Lead and mentor department supervisors, machinists, and technical staff to foster a culture of accountability and high performance. Oversee performance evaluations. Develop succession planning for resources. Skills Matrix and Training: Maintain NWI capabilities by ensuring we have properly trained qualified and authorized employees. Ensure workforce performance reviews, training, and skill development programs are properly executed. New Technology Implementation: Strategically select new equipment to ensure maximum productivity and reduce operating costs. New Processes Optimization: Lead initiatives to ensure manufacturing processes are optimized to maximize efficiency, quality and value while eliminating waste and cost. Technical support to Supervisor and leads. Start measuring Machine process capabilities and continuously improve it Reduce Machine Set UP Time on all operations adopting new tools and improve people skillset Adopt One Man to many machines philosophy and extend to the whole Plant. Develop a Succession Plan and Talent development in the Plant Eliminate continuously bottlenecks Machine Dashboard Monitoring: Modern manufacturing systems as KPI dashboards (white boards) that allow operators to review up to six critical metrics in a matter of seconds, fostering immediate reaction to anomalies. Continuously measure all Production KPIs such as Productivity, Efficiency, safety, Quality, etc and provide a continuous improvement plan update to management Complete additional projects and responsibilities as required. Expectations Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to ensure leadership presence across all shifts. Adhere strictly to safety policies with zero tolerance for unsafe behaviors or practices. Model professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions. Enforce 5S, cleanliness, and organized work environments across the plant. QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION: Minimum 10 years in manufacturing leadership, preferably in aerospace machining environments. Strong understanding of CNC machining, assembly, and inspection processes for precision aerospace components. Proficient in lean manufacturing, KPIs, and data-driven production management. Familiarity with aerospace quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory oversight. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Management preferred. EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Supervisory experience in a complex manufacturing environment from basic to exceptional with multiple work centers, multiple products and multiple product flows. 10-15 years’ experience in CNC Programming and /or machining. Minimum of 10 years related work experience in a complex manufacturing system. Demonstrated ability with software programs related to scheduling and linking programs. Experience working in aerospace industry is preferred Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001. SKILLS & ABILITIES: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
